“I feel extremely fortunate to be given the opportunity to serve BCA, the students, and the families. Including Christian beliefs and principles into the educational process is what makes BCA a special place.  In order to maintain personal stability and endure the challenges which life brings, we need a strong faith in God, a strong personal character, and a great education.  BCA provides its students an environment to obtain all those qualities.”

Academic Dean - Andrea Case

Andrea S. Case became a part of Baytown Christian Academy’s faculty in January of 1999 when she accepted a position as a second-grade teacher.  Mrs. Case’s teaching career, however, started with a summer teaching job in Houston, TX in June of 1981 upon her graduation from the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education—Major English and Minor French.  After teaching various grade levels and starting her own family, Mrs. Case returned to the classroom herself at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where she graduated in 1996 with a Master of Arts in Christian Education.  All in all, Mrs. Case has over 35 years of teaching experience in various classroom and administrative roles.  In her own words—“BCA is where my heart is—it is where God has placed me.  I am blessed to have spent the last 20 years of my career as an educator at BCA.  The first nine of those years I served as an elementary teacher of various grade levels, and over these last years, I have served in different administrative roles.  I fully endorse Christian education and strive to build meaningful relationships that impact students and their families for Christ.  BCA’s mission perfectly sums up my own educational philosophy:  Teaching the Mind; Reaching the Heart.”

The fact that both of my children are giving back to the school that poured so much into their lives and helped mold and shape them into the beautiful young adults they are today makes this momma's heart so very proud.  It's an honor and a privilege to be here and be part of what God is doing in, and through, BCA.  I am proud to be a Bulldog!"

Although she previously taught Pre-K for 3 years, she has worked with youth and young adults for about 10 years at her local church, which she feels has been part of God's master plan to prepare for High School education. She has done mission work in 4 different countries, sharing her love for the Lord and the gospel while running VBSs for the local children and serving as a translator for several international teams.

She is so grateful for a school like this, giving her the opportunity to not only teach high school teens but help lead them in God's love and purpose. She is fluent in Spanish, as it is her first language, and is excited to be able to teach and help others learn the beautiful language. She will also be coaching our soccer team! Dual Credit English - Sue Cannariato

Susan Cannariato, a veteran of 45 years in public schools, teaching all levels of English, from remedial sixth grade, regular, academic, honors, and Advanced Placement through college in several states (Lee College in Texas and Highlands College in Freeport, Illinois), has found a new home at Baytown Christian Academy and enjoys the Christian and collegial atmosphere as a member of the BCA family.

Teaching dual credit English through Lee College for the past ten years, she tries to guide her students to writing, reading and learning at their personal best.  In her Composition classes, she works with students to take their basic writing skills to a scholarly and academic level needed for success at the more rigorous college-level while being mindful that her students are still high schoolers. In Survey of English Literature, she encourages her students to hear voices from the past speaking to them while also finding commonalities with their own daily lives, as well as connections to their past readings here at BCA.

She loves hearing of the success of her former students whether they are loving parents, teachers (including one here at BCA), doctors, lawyers, or, this year, an NFL quarterback coach. She looks for her Bulldogs to achieve their greatest potential while remaining servants of our Lord.

JH ELA- Peggy Ratliff

HS Math - Jeanette Edmiston

Pre-Cal/Calculus - Toni Collett

This is Toni Collett's second year at BCA.  She is a transplant Texan who graduated from Crosby High School and went on to San Jac while she tried to figure out what she wanted to be when she grew up. When her counselor asked her what she wanted to teach, she said math because she knew what it was like to not understand.  She graduated from the University of Houston Clear Lake with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics as well as her teacher certification.  Seven years later she decided to get her Masters in Education from the University of Houston.

She was a public school teacher for 10 years then took a 15-year hiatus from teaching while working for her husband.  During the summer of 2019, she decided I wanted to teach again part-time and God led her to BCA.  Three weeks after arriving here she was diagnosed with breast cancer (she is now cancer-free).  "I tell everyone that I would have never made it through my treatments without the staff's, students', and parents' prayer and support.  I have since decided to go back to school and work on my Masters of Mathematics from Sam Houston State University."

She has been married to Joe for 10 years and they have two dogs.  She has a bucket list a mile long of places she wants to travel to once covid is over!!
